Mackenzie Schaefer (she/her)

Head Counselor

First Year at Camp: 2010 (Started as a camper)

Bit About Me: Mackenzie says that when she came to Camp Possibilities for the first time in 2010 as a camper, it immediately felt like a second home for her. Mackenzie has had type one diabetes for 18 years and uses the t:slim insulin pump and the Dexcom CGM. When she was younger, she played soccer and field hockey, and she has always loved going to the beach or for a hike. Mackenzie graduated from Salisbury University in 2022 and has now begun teaching fourth grade in Harford County, MD. Mackenzie is a natural educator and is great at working with children of all ages. These are just some of the skills that make her an invaluable member of our Camp Team. Mackenzie started her time as a counselor at Camp for the first time in 2017 and has since become one of our head counselors.

Memory: Mackenzie’s favorite Camp memory is experiencing her first year as a counselor and being able to give her campers the same experience that she has cherished year after year.
